Classic FM Gramophone Award Nomination 2009

Guy & the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Rumon Gamba have been nominated for a 2009 Classic FM Gramophone Award for their CD released earlier this year by Chandos of works by British composer, David Matthews including the Concerto in Azzurro.

 

The Gramophone Awards represent the best of classical music, is one of the world's most distinctive arts awards of incomparable influence and are the pinnacle for every classical performer.  The Awards were established in 1978 by Gramophone Magazine and aim to reward the outstanding classical recordings of the year. 

 

The Gramophone Award judges are a selection of the world's finest critics who maintain the excellence of the prizes year after year. 

 

Guy & the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra are nominated in the 'contemporary' category, and the winner will be announce on the 2 October 2009.
