The 2008/2009 season marks Guy’s Berlin debut with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchestra in the Berlin Philharmonie (Brahms Double Concerto), the Northern Sinfonia (Britten Cello Symphony) and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool (Dvorak Cello Concerto). Other concerto highlights include a return to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Walton Cello Concerto), to Dublin to perform with the Orchestra of St Cecilia, conducted by Nicholas Daniel, a tour of the Haydn D Major Concerto with Manchester Camerata, and a performance of Tavener’s Svyati with the BBC Singers in York Minster. Guy will be joining in birthday celebrations marking 40 years of Chetham’s School of Music with a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with Jennifer Pike and Leon McAuley, and in the world premier of a work by Giovanni Sollima which will be performed by an ensemble of 10 international cellists including Yo Yo Ma at Kathryn Stott’s birthday concert in the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool.

In May, Guy completed a tour of Sweden and the UK with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Musica Vitae, and will embark on a tour of the UK with the St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra later this year. He will also complete a tour around the Baltic Sea with destinations to include Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and St Petersburg with pianist Ashley Wass and violinist Catherine Leonard. Guy will complete a number of studio recordings for BBC Radio 3 and in Berlin for Deutschland Radio, as well as a CD recording with the BBC Philharmonic to be released early 2009.

In recital, Guy will this season perform at the BBC Proms, City of London Festival, Tetbury Music Festival, Cambridge Music Festival, Chester Music Festival, Aberystwyth Musicfest International Festival, Rydale Music Festival, Shaldon Festival and also at venues in Ireland, France and Japan. Forthcoming collaborations include returning to work with pianists Kathryn Stott, Charles Owen, Huw Watkins, Finghin Collins and Ashley Wass.

Guy recently commissioned a new work for cello and piano by British composer Dylan Pugh, in conjunction with Sounds Underground. The project was awarded a residency by Aldeburgh Productions and was performed at Snape Maltings and in London. Guy will be returning to complete a Residency at Aldeburgh to work on Britten’s Cello Suites in preparation for performances this season. Guy has also recently been involved in the World and European premiers of works by Ian Wilson, Peter Maxwell Davies and Nicholas Maw.

Being a committed chamber musician, Guy is also a founder member of the Aronowitz Ensemble who have recently been invited onto the prestigious BBC New Generation Artists Series. For more information on the ensemble's upcoming concerts please visit www.aronowitzensemble.co.uk.

Guy is regularly invited to perform at the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove and has consequently collaborated with musicians including Steven Isserlis, Ferenc Rados, and Gerhard Schulz. Recently, Guy has also collaborated and performed with Tasmin Little, Nicholas Daniel, Ashley Wass, Peter Cropper, Michael Collins, Janine Jansen, and Isabelle van Kuelen.
